Insecurity in Relationships and How to Get Over? - Self Help

Relationships are built through trust and respect. But there are people who simply do not have confident on their partner, they would always feel insecure and find it hard to trust their other half.

Having insecurity in relationships can lead to many negative problems and once there is at least one party, either the male or the female felt insecure about the relationship, it will turn out to be an unhealthy relationship. Relationships comprising long period of insecurity can even destroy all the acceptance, trust and respect that were being built up from start and eventually ruin the whole relationship.

So what are some of the factors leading to an insecure relationship?

Communication breakdown

A healthy relationship requires us to communicate in order to convey the feelings and thoughts to your partner. On the other hand, a lack of communication in relationships can always cause misunderstanding and no bonding will be built having none of giving and taking issues between the couple. Once there is any misunderstanding between each other, a quarrel or a small fight might occur, ruining the relationship.

Jealousy

This is one of the common key factors in causing insecurity in relationships. Jealously is more likely to take place when your partner gets occupied by another person unexpectedly. Doubts were sure to arise.

Less time spent together

Some couples are not able to spend sufficient time with their partner due to their busy work lifestyle. It is really important when you try to make time for your partner as spending quality time with your partner will enhance the bond shared between the both of you. There will be negative feelings, sense of rejection and upset if less time is being spent together as less sharing will be made, leading to certain distrust issues and hence causing insecurity.

Insecurity usually destroys the bond shared in relationships. The first thing that you are required to do is to believe and trust your partner as trust is a key factor in maintaining long-lasting relationships. Moreover, you have to learn to communicate with your partner in order to prevent fear and any misunderstanding caused. You are to apologize if it is necessarily; when you did something wrong. Last but not least, you can spend more time doing things together with your partner as these increases the bond in between the both of you.
