Different Faces Of Relationships - Self Help

Copyright (c) 2011 Patric Chan

One of the keys to happiness is relationships. Married or attached people will have no problems relating to this. The richest man on earth may not necessarily be the happiest if he doesn't have a fulfilling relationship. On the other hand, a poor man can be happy if he has a wonderful relationship

Relationships can be 'unpredictable' because you have no control. However you can do things to make the outcome 'predictable'.

Hold on. If you're not married yet, you think that this piece of content might not be suitable for you at all. WRONG. Whether it's relationship with your parents, siblings, colleagues, employees, etc - they all share the same fundamentals.

If you are running your own business then you can appreciate that 'nasty' customers come with the territory. They can be very stressful to deal with.

This happens when personal and business relationship got intertwined.

Of course the best solution is to get rid of the customers but you can't do that all the time in reality because some of them never asked for refunds. They just demand a lot.

Here's how you can separate your business and personal relationships.

If you don't do that, business/work will eventually invade your personal life. You'll be miserable as a result. When you're in that position, your business will suffer as well because your state of mind is not conducive for healthy business opportunities.

Everything starts from your mind.

You have to be very clear that the only reason you have a 'Business.

Then there are other relevant goals for your business/job - to help others achieve what they want and to give you your own sense of achievement when your business is profitable.

Your Personal Relationship? It's to enrich your life - to have a sense of belonging and to experience love.

Once you understand that both of them are not 100% related but instead, compliment to each other, you'll realize that there's no point mixing them up.

So if you have a conflict, whether internally or with someone else, pause for a minute and ask yourself - Is this conflict related to PERSONAL OR BUSINESS?

Both of them have different goals to be achieved so they're not related and must be handled in their own 'world'.

Then the main problem still remains - how do you actually 'divide' your feelings from Personal and Business?

Go back to square one - UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'RE TRYING TO ACHIEVE.

If it reaches a stage where you cannot decide, then at that moment, you'll need to decide what the priority is and sacrifice the other one as long as it's moving towards your success outcome.

If you're looking at a million dollar business deal but your personal relationship will suffer because of it, bear with it for a while. That one million dollar will give you the opportunity to enjoy your personal relationship later on.

Question - How do you prioritize then?

If the Business Relationship can give you better fulfillment in your Personal Relationship and vice versa, then there should be no problemm in prioritizing them. Simple. Identify your goals and work towards achieving it.

If you don't handle any of these relationships correctly, it's going to mess up the other one and you'll be in trouble.

Keep your PERSONAL life separate from your BUSINESS LIFE.
