Kundli Matching: Ensuring Successful Relationships - Spirituality - Religion

Kundli matching is one intrinsic part of the marriage tradition, followed by the followers of Hindu religion. It is considered as a mark of safe and successful marital relationship. In Vedic religion, marriage has been described as amongst one of the purest associations which one forms in the human form. In order to sustain its purity from the strains of conflicts or separation, Kundli matching is considered as necessary. It is probably as old as the marriage tradition, and one prerequisite step necessarily required to be followed.

What is Kundali Matching?Kundli matching is assessment of Janam Kundali of two individuals, in order to derive a prediction about their possible compatibility and understanding, and accordingly their chances of clicking a success in a marital relationship. As a part of it, an able astrologer puts across the two Janam Kundali, assesses both Kundali separately to draw out their individual attributes (Gunas), and then compare those individual intrinsic attributes with the attributes of the other person to draw a prediction of their possible compatibility. These attributes are considered to influence the chances of success or failure in a marriage, and hold a point in deciding the level of compatibility and understanding between two people. It is traditionally referred as Guna Milap process, or Ashtakoot Milan.

As a part of it, a total of eight descriptions are considered. They are Varan, Vasya, Tara, Yoni, Grah Maitri, Gan, Bhakoot, and Nadi. Each of them holds a certain significance of its own, and are considered to be decisive in deciding the fate of a probable relationship. Each one of them is allotted with a mark of maximum points, which together make a total of 36. After assessing the Janam Kundali of both the boy and girl, astrologer marks a score on each of them. In the end, all individual points are counted to draw the total points. Any score less than half the mark of 118 is considered to denote for a failure in relationship, and any score more than 18 is considered to denote for a successful marital relationship. The higher the score, the better it is, and vice versa.

Other than this, one major consideration at the time of Kundli matching is to consider the positioning of the planet Moon in the Kundali of boy and girl, to draw out if anyone of them holds a Manglik effect. In some cases, there is one cause or few causes present in the Janam Kundali ruining the entire possibility of a successful relationship. In such cases, astrology offers to carry out remedial steps, traditionally called as 'Dosha Nivaran', with which all such causes can be eliminated from its roots to ensure a successful marital relationship.

Significance of Kundli MatchingWith increasing marriage failures, more so in the western part of the world, everyone wishes to get secured on the part of their marriage. More so, with the Indian sensibilities and traditions completely against any kind of separation or conflicts, it is felt to be required essentially. Though, Kundli matching it is very profoundly and religiously followed in India, but in the past some time, people belonging to other parts of the world have also started following this tradition. It derives a satisfaction that one will not end up being a part of a failure or conflicting marital relationship, which is a too prominent part of anyone's life.
