How to Limit Stress on Hectic Work Days

How to Limit Stress on Hectic Work Days

Everyone experiences stress at work, so it's essential to understand how we can limit stress on hectic work days. Even when you are rushing to make a deadline, you can stop for rest and relaxation to ensure your own well-being.

Stop and Eat

Usually the first thing to go during a hectic workday is any kind of meal planning. You don't eat all day, become famished and dizzy, and then gobble everything in sight as soon as you can. That is not a healthy way to live, and the symptoms that go with skipping meals (like dizziness or headaches) will make your stress level rise. So even on the most hectic workday, it makes sense to eat small, sensible meals throughout the day.

Get Physical

If you are feeling stressed, taking some sort of physical activity may help you feel better. Physical activity, such as taking a brisk walk or doing a desk workout, can help your body release endorphins, which are neurotransmitters in the brain that reduce pain sensations. Getting physical offers two benefits: first, it gets you away from your work situation, even if for just a few minutes; and second, the release of endorphins will make you feel happier and more relaxed.

Drink Water

If you are rushed throughout the day, chances are you aren't even taking the time to drink enough water, which can lead to dehydration. Most adults are supposed to drink at least 64 ounces of water a day--that's water only, not caffeinated drinks, which are mildly diuretic and can actually exacerbate dehydration.

The flip side of drinking enough water is actually going to the bathroom when you need to go. Most women hold it as long as they can, which can lead to bladder infections. So do your body a favor: keep it hydrated and then go to the bathroom as often as you need to flush the impurities from your system.

Take a Breather

Take a breather, literally. When you get stressed, you have a tendency to hold your breath. Take a few moments to take some deep breaths, and even repeat a mantra as you do so. This will slow you down and help you to focus your energy.

Give Yourself a Treat

If you feel stressed, take a minute out of your hectic schedule to promise yourself a treat. Promise yourself a hot bath at the end of your long day, a pedicure at the end of a long week or a good book just before bed. Then when you make your goal, get your treat without apologizing. You earned it!

Check In with a Loved One

Sometimes the best way to gain perspective is to check in with a loved one. Get a hug from your kid, text "I love you" to your husband or send your BFF a quick email. Sometimes hearing a friendly voice is the only thing you need to keep going, and it spreads the good feelings to your loved ones, too.

The bottom line to limiting stress is to take care of your basic needs, even on the most hectic days. Give yourself food, water, exercise, oxygen and love--and the occasional treat--and you will be amazed at all you can handle.

New Year?s Resolution Ideas

Every New Year brings a new beginning and a fresh chance to improve the future. Especially, with regards to our self, we have the ability to grow and adapt, augmenting and advancing our state of being every year. Weather your goals are academic or commercial. For the home or at work. Making a resolution simply means a firm decision and having determination with your goal orientated plans. New Year resolutions help us to stop looking at the past and move forward into the future. Here are some ideas for a healthier you.

1. Weight loss. After the holidays we might have picked up a few extra pounds. There are many ways to diet and not always to eat less but more of the right kind of foods. The Alkaline-Acid Diet is very good and is simply eating more fresh fruit and vegetables. Eating more fish and less red meat. Eating slower helps you to eat less portions, your not in a race, and your body will feel full but not bloated. Drink more water, it has no sugar or calories. Keeping a diet schedule is more mental than anything. Attitude is important. Constantly remembering what your goal is. This is your gift to yourself. To make a new you. How many pounds do you want to lose? 10? 20? 30? Weigh yourself often, and monitor that keeping your goal in mind. Walk more and ride less. Walking helps to digest the food and is very good for the cardiovascular system. So dont just eat right, eat better. An apple a day just might keep that Doctor away.

2. Feng Shui. Redecorate your house or rearrange your furniture. Change or improve your surroundings with a more calmer and natural setting. This ancient Chinese philosophy can help us with arrangement, placement, and color of our living and work space. Living in harmony is the goal here. With the New Year gives us a chance to uncluttered our environment, bring back a well-balance atmosphere and making a more comfortable place to live in.

3. Change your thinking. Be bolder, be nicer, and be kinder. Dare to be different. Have more of an open-mind and not a close-mind. Change the way you look at something and the way you look at it changes. Have more patience, understanding, and empathy toward other people. Think good thoughts. Think beyond yourself and realize that were all connected. Everybody is important and essential.

4. Make new friends and embrace the old ones. Enjoy your similarities and the differences. Let others know that you are there for them when they need help. Listen more and talk less. Encourage others with their dreams and goals, friends support one another. Greet them warmly and let them know you care about them. For a friend in need is a friend indeed. Friendships can last a life time and give so much joy. So nourish them and cultivate friendship with love and understanding.

5. Exercising. Going to the gym is common if you can motive yourself to get there. Staying fit doesnt have to be too hard. If you can make it to the Gym using their exercising equipment is fine, but you can still do a good workout at home. You can workout while watching TV or playing music for 20 minutes. Working on the cardio is key. While inside use a chair, a broom, small weights, apply Yoga techniques, walking, running, and bicycling, when outside. Workout with family and friends for fun and support.

6. Recycle. Go green. Be more environmentally friendly. Walk dont ride. Make a cleaner you and a cleaner world. Tips for going green are all over the internet. Web sites like PlanetGreen.com always has the latest information. Recycling is good for the Earth and everybody benefits.

7. Read more. With todays technology and computers in every home, no one reads the paper anymore. But books have been around for thousands of years and still hold a tome of treasure and enjoyment in them. So put down the iphone with its small screen and read text that is large and easy to read, easily available with less search time, and something that cant be loss on accidental deletion. Grab a book, magazine, newspaper or your favorite journal and sit back and relax, and start reading.

8. Quit the bad stuff. Stop all the hurtful things in your life that are holding you back. This can manifest itself as a person, place or thing. Stop being in a difficult relationship. Stop smoking. Stop drinking. Stop using or abusing drugs. Break bad habits. Stop procrastinating. Send them out the door and start a new life without them.

9. Deal with debt. When bills pile up for lack of funds. This can create worry and stress. Dealing with debt as soon as possible is key because debt doesnt just go away on its own. Getting a handle on finances and setting goals to fix, payoff, or adjust debt so it doesnt rule your life. Look at all options and chose whats best for your situation. Look at debt only as a temporary setback to where you want to be.

10. Make the time. For yourself, family, and friends. Get closer to people in your life. Plan that getaway together or party. Plan ahead to visit them. Make plans for two or one or the whole family. Spending time alone with them is important and healthy. Weather traveling or just staying home is good when everyone is engaged in a group gathering. Married couples and singles can find that alone time with their special someone and spark up the romance again. Live life to the fullest and be happy.

The best New Years resolution ideas are the simplest ones and most obtainable ones. Start with good ideas for improvement and goals that can be reached realistically. Dont overpower yourself with impossible goals, make small and gradual changes that you can do. Write a to do list of dreams and goals for the new year. Set time frames on when goals should be met and completed. Get in the habit of this and start accomplishing set goals and plans that you need to complete for this year, and the next year, and so on. Soon youll discover that your finally reaching all that you have set out to do and creating the life that you really want.

All About Taurus Men

Taurus men are exactly the kind of men that your mother wants for you dependable, responsible and loyal. You can always count on them to keep their word and if they tell you they'll be somewhere, they'll be there...on time. They also cope with everyday problems better than most other astrological signs. When things go wrong, Taurus is who you want to be with. These men have a stoic acceptance of life's inevitable challenges, and can handle them full-on without hesitation. They can help reassure you, especially if you're prone toward more emotional or dramatic responses.

Taurus men are like the strong, handsome heroes in so many romance novels. They're solid and immovable, traits that bring their own sort of comfort. In addition to his strength of will and character, the Taurus man also has an appealing sensual quality that most women cannot resist. He's gentle, affectionate and very good with children.

Taurus men can sometimes be a pain but only if they aren't your type. If you prefer spontaneous surprises and fancy outings, you'd better leave the bull in the pasture where he's content. If you're seeking security, love and caring, however, Taurus men are just what you need. They don't like surprises, so are rarely found surprising their lovers, but this doesn't mean they lack in providing love and attention it's just not the most spontaneous kind.

Taurus men are also uneasy in a room full of strangers, so you can forget those nights spent out partying. Don't ask him to go out on a whim, either, because the Taurus man hates being asked to go somewhere without plenty of time to think it over. Even if it's something you know he'd like, he still needs a few days to think about it before anything sounds fun. If he's forced to make a quick decision, the answer will always be no. As far as trips in general, he can usually be persuaded to go, but don't force him to live out of a suitcase or hotel for long.

Uncomplicated, steady and genuine, Taurus men make excellent partners. They often go for fiery women who have the spontaneity and imagination they're missing then they complain when she doesn't want to stay at home. Don't fall for a Taurus man and expect too much from him. He'll be a wonderful companion, partner, lover and father always faithful and true. However, he's not the most exciting sign in the zodiac.

Taurus men also have a notorious lazy streak and they can be couch potatoes, especially if they put on a little weight from lack of exercise. Once they start on a project, however, they won't stop until they see it through to the end. They'll paint the house, build a cabinet or clean out the garage, because they get a fulfilling sense of accomplishment when finishing a job and viewing their own handiwork.

If you like to pick out clothes for your man, remember that Taurus men like to dress for comfort. Loose-cut silk or brushed cotton shirts and soft denim pants are best. If he puts on a suit and tie to take you out, rest assured he thinks very highly of you because he's not doing it for himself. He'd be much happier in his old, ratty bathrobe and slippers.

Noise and discord irritate Taurus men, especially fighting children. They dislike a house full of people and don't particularly care for entertaining. In a restaurant, Taurus men feel most comfortable with a booth near the back. Don't make him sit at a table in the middle of the room with people constantly walking by him and coming up behind him.

What Taurus men do love are long drives in the country or long-distance car trips where they can view trees, mountains, meadows and grazing animals in fields. This type of scenery heals the Taurus man's soul. Most Taurus men like to watch golf on television as well, because the slow pace and acres of green grass soothe him.

If you need variety and constant spice in your life, you wouldn't be wise to settle down with a Taurus man. If you like mind games, look elsewhere. Taurus men takes what others say literally and speak bluntly themselves. They don't play games, and they also have difficulty discussing psychological and emotional issues; they just block them out. You may find yourself trying to explain your feelings to him, and he'll simply smile condescendingly and tell you that you're being silly. This can be invalidating and infuriating, but there's no changing stubborn Taurus men in this department.

As a lover, Taurus men have a slow, steady manner. A physical, earthy sign, Taurus often prides himself on his competence in the bedroom. Sex is important to Taurus men and they should not be hurried through it. However, they don't make the most exciting lovers. Once they find something that works, they stick to it. The trick is to teach him what you like from the beginning, so at least he sticks to that!

Taurus men are notoriously stubborn. Men of this sign are the least likely to change, and you can't prod or nag them into doing something they're set against. They don't like change, especially if it means starting over, such as getting a new job, starting a new relationship or moving to a new place. The good thing about this trait is that Taurus men are not likely to give up on their marriage, even if things become difficult. They would never throw away their wife and family for a passionate fling. While there's not guarantee he'll stay with you forever, the Taurus man is not the type to cheat or walk out.

When it comes to food, Taurus men prefer meat and potatoes. If you're a vegetarian, you'll be cooking two meals or adding meat to his. If you like to experiment with exotic dishes, don't expect your Taurus man to rave about your cooking skills. He tends to like the same old thing meat loaf, pot roast and steak.

Although stubbornness and lack of spontaneity are often their worst traits, Taurus men can also become very different if someone threatens his possessions, home and family. In rare cases, he may even become violent in the face of such a threat. Don't ever wave a red flag at a bull unless you're prepared to be charged. However, he would never act violently toward loved ones, especially his wife and children.

Living With a Taurus Man: Do's

Cook his meals at home, because to him, a home-cooked meal is an act of love.

Appreciate your Taurus man, because there's a good chance he'll always remain faithful to you.

Be aware that he needs time each week to sit in front of the TV without having to answer any questions.

Living With a Taurus Man: Don'ts

Don't expect him to quickly get over it when he becomes angry. Give him time to think it over and recover.

Don't expect him to attend all of the social events you want to go to. Make sure you have friends that can indulge you in this department, because Taurus men do not frequently enjoy a night out on the town.

Don't allow your friends and relatives to drop by at any time, because Taurus men don't like people intruding on their space. Have a call first rule to keep him happy.

How to pick and name the perfect pet

It is a well respected belief that money cannot buy happiness. I completely disagree with this. At home I have a large money tin which in which I place all my coins, and have been doing so for a year. When that tin is full, I am going to take the money out and buy a puppy. I adamantly believe that this will be the happiest day of my life so far. However, one must remember that you will be living with this animal for over 10 years; therefore this is a big decision that must be thought about considerably. So, what is the right pet for you? Here are some basic guidelines to get you started on your way to finding that perfect companion. Dogs: If you want unconditional love and loyalty, then a dog is for you. A dog can be your best friend, will make you laugh, smile, and you will find yourself telling anyone who will listen about its hilarious exploits and adventures. However a dog can be high maintenance. They need room, lots of attention, exercise and most importantly, l ove. They can also get bored, lonely and depressed, so if you are leaving them alone for the day, give them a big bone, or a toy to keep them occupied. Here are some ideas to make sure you choose the perfect friend. Be sensible. If you have a backyard that barely has room to swing a bat in, don't buy a Great Dane or Doberman. You must respect you pet! Make sure you check out all your local shelters and animal rescue homes. Also check out your local greyhound racing track. There are thousands of retired greyhounds out there that need homes. If you adopt a dog and have other pets and/or children make sure the dog will get along with them before you bring them home. Also, make sure there is someone who can look after your dog when you are away. They will become lonely and depressed without human companionship. Cats: I havent had as much experience with cats, but what I have learned is that cats demand respect. Give them that and they will love you, don't give them it and t hey will look at you as if you are the scum of the earth. Some stray and abandoned cats may have been mistreated and are therefore distrusting of humans. If you rescue a stray, it will take patience and lots of love to get it to respond to you. You may get a few scratches along the way, but remember that this cat may have gone through a horrible time before you met it. Cats are perfect for those who want a friendly, responsive pet that is not as high maintenance as a dog. If you are away, they most likely will not need anyone to stay with them, but someone to simply check on them and feed them each day. Other: When looking at other pets, remember to research them carefully. Some pets, such as cockatoos and hermit crabs can actually outlive their owners! Do you really want to be putting your pet in your will? Rabbits are a popular pet, and can soften the most hardest of hearts. They are entertaining, cute and fluffy with twitching noses and soft ears. They often seem like something straight out of Disney. However, they are not very bright, and take some handling to become used to your touch. If you want a more responsive animal, maybe do not opt for a rabbit. Rats and mice are apparently wonderful pets, especially rats. However, they are not good at living alone, so you often have to buy them in pairs. Just make sure you take all precautions so you don't end up with hundreds of little baby rats! Birds are lovely, soothing and entertaining. Unfortunately a lot of people treat them as decorations rather than pets. Make sure they have a chance to stretch their wings each day, and have a mansion of a cage. Fish can be great pets for first timers. Just make sure you actually want one, and are not just buying it on a whim. Snakes and reptiles sometimes need licenses to own. Make sure you research this well. Snakes and lizards are great, low maintenance pets. However you may find it hard to get a pet sitter for them! If you are lucky enough to ha ve found your new little friend, you now need to name him/her! You might have a name in your head already, one might pop into you head a soon as you lay eyes on your new pet, or you may be completely stumped! Here are some guidelines for names to get you started. The five most popular cat names in the UK are: 1. Tigger 2. Sooty 3. Felix 4.Lucky 5. Smokey The five most popular dog names: 1. Max 2. Ben 3. Buster 4. Tyson 5.Lady Think about your choice logically. You might love the name 'Lulu TrixieBelle Mcfluffykins', but do you really want to be shouting that out across the park? The best names for dogs are short names, easy to call out and don't sound ridiculous, but this doesn't mean you cant be creative. Do not give your pet a 'joke name', how rude! Make sure you do name your pet, even if its just a little goldfish as this will strengthen the friendship between you and your critter. Most importantly, remember to love your pet, it will be the most rewarding thing you do!

7 Bad Habits Age You Faster

(1) frequent exposure to the SUN: You know it, your worst enemy UV rays! Excessive UV exposure leads to prematureagingof skin because sunlight will directly damage the skin deep elastic fibers and collagens resulting in facial wrinkles. Therefore, remember to use a good-quality sunscreen regularly whenever you are out in the sun.

(2) stay up is the best time to restore your beauty, as it is the time when your bodys meridians flow to the kidney & liver. Without adequate rest, these two important organs will stop detoxing your body & the ugly signs will show up on the skin, prone to rough surface & dark spots. For people not used to going to bed early, no later than 1 am is the far cry from your liver for rest.

(3) smoking, drinking and nicotine will contract the blood vessels in your skin, less blood supply means less nutrients to & less detox from your skin, so smokers generally look at least 10 years older than non-smokers peers. Similar action from alcohol but it will also reduce the amount of oil in the skin, leading to skin dehydration & hence wrinkles.

(4) insufficient water: Water is the source of life as it is the key to accelerate your metabolism & eliminate the waste from your body. Not only do you need to add enough hydration into yourskin care, but also you have to drink at least 6 to 8 cups of water every day & stay away from caffeine-rich drinks(which would dehydrate your skin further).

(5) lack of exercise: Appropriate amount of exercise can promote blood circulation to stimulate the renewal of skin cells, and it also help with the release of endorphins making you happy & hence younger mind & body. Also, skin is the largest organ to eliminate the waste from the body from sweating, so you know why you have to get moving!

(6) excessive facial expressions : Everyone got a way to express themselves but too much facial movements will lead to the early arrival of your enemy wrinkles; one example is worry lines between your brows from frequent frowning. You may have noticed that a woman looking 10 years young tends to be very stable emotionally.

(7) poor diet style: Certain food, such as junk, spicy or fried, is like a time bomb for the skin. Just too much rubbish for your body to handle & the waste will keep accumulating in your skin. So adopt a healthy diet for theloveof your skin; for example, vitamins in fruits and vegetables support & strengthen your skin. Also a lot of anti-agingskin careproducts are made from natural plants/fruits.

Changing all these bad habits will definitely slow down youragingclock, but to defyagingyou will also need to use regularanti-aging face treatmentsto win the battle.

How to Beat Stress Effectively

1. Sleep at least 6 hours a day. For those in their teens, 8 hours would be better. This will give time for your body to replenish energy and recover from stress.

2. Know your working limits. Sometimes we accept way too much work, more than we can handle. Learn to say No to additional workloads. Before doing multi-tasking it is important to know your limits and dont go beyond it.

3. Live within your means. Needless to say, spending beyond your budget is stressful. So avoid it at all means. Refrain from using credit cards if possible.

4. Eat right. Dont overeat. Dont eat junk foods all the time. Choose food wisely. Make sure that what you eat contains the essentials: carbohydrates, proteins and vitamins. A healthy body is the best way to combat stress.

5. Exercise. Exercise is a sure-fire way to stay healthy and beat stress. Do it 10 minutes everyday when you wake up. If you cant, then find time to walk everyday. Park your car some distance from the office so you will be forced to walk. Take the stairs not the elevator. Take your time roaming around when buying groceries.

6. Make a schedule. Write down what needs to be done. Then allot time to accomplish them. This way you know exactly where to go and what to do next. You dont want to go to the bank and when you get home realize that you should have passed by the grocery store. Plotting your daily schedule will save you time, money and energy.

7. Take some time off. Its not always work and work. All work and no play makes one dull, so goes the adage. If you work hard, keep the balance in your life by finding time to play or have fun. Go out with friends. Dine out with your significant other. Have a massage. Take your mind off from work and have fun!

8. Utilize the mind. The state mind affects the body. Employing the mind for relaxation techniques is another way to beat stress. Imagination is an effective way to counter stress. Clinical studies have shown that using your imagination to picture peaceful sceneries is a good stress-reliever. Take a break from work. Go to some place where you can be alone for a few minutes. Close your eyes and imagine the most peaceful scenery you can think of. Meditation and self-hypnosis are also effective ways to utilize the mind to counter stress.

9. Pray/Read the Bible. I have a friend who reads the Bible every night before going to sleep. And she wakes up feeling refreshed every morning. No worries. No stress. Just a light, joyful feeling that stays with her throughout the day. Ask God for wisdom to understand His Words. Reading the bible could do wonders to your nerves.

10. Have a joyful heart. Smile at people. Find humor in littlest things. Dont fret when something goes wrong. Laugh at it instead. Dont allow petty things to upset you. A joyful heart is the best medicine.

11. Forgive. Hating people will not do us any good. Hating doesnt hurt the one you hate. As a matter of fact, the person may not even be aware that you hate him/her. It hurts you more because you will be under huge stress carrying its burden in your heart. Resentment blocks Gods blessings. Forgiveness will release the hatred and resentments. It will also make you happier and closer to God.

12. Reach out to people. Be friendly and sociable. Talk to people when queuing up in grocery stores or bank. Smile at people at work. Give to charitable institutions. Support worthwhile goals like environment protection. The more love you give, the more will come back to you.

Herbal and Nutritional Treatments for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Over two years ago I experienced tingling and numbness in my right hand. At times the pain was so restrictive I could not move my hand and at other times there was a prickly sensation as if my hand had "fallen asleep" and I could not regain the proper feeling or use. The surgeon who examined me was talking about surgery so I was going to do my homework first. The thought of surgery spurred me on to find out more and though I was diagnosed with an inflamed ulnar nerve, the research I did kept leading me to carpal tunnel syndrome.

If surgery scares you as much as it does me you might appreciate a little background information before going under the knife. Not to say that surgeons don't win my respect. They do. I just would rather try alternative remedies first.

I hardly go a day without consulting The Green Pharmacy by James A. Duke, Ph.D. I've found a host of helpful advice and love sharing it with others. He defines carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) as the "compression of the nerve that passes through the "tunnel" formed by the wrist bones."

No wonder my search brought me here. I worked in retail when I first experienced it and could not lift the cases of products nor change my price gun and a variety of other duties I needed to perform. Even picking up coins to make change or count the drawers down was near impossible. I was afraid of losing my job because of my inability to perform simple required tasks. My hand felt like it was swollen, but there was nothing visible.

I was required to wear an arm brace which caused me to get a heat rash. Even though I realized that my diagnosis was different, perhaps I could find something to help me in the information I unearthed.

One of the first things I did was to create my own stress ball. I would squeeze this ball every time I got the chance to. The soft squishy ball was beneficial in improving the circulation in my hand and relieving the pins and needles feeling I had been experiencing. When I started my new job in 2007 I took one to work with me and soon was making them for all my co-workers. Find the directions at:

My stress ball by Judy Sheldon

Dr. Duke recommends using Chinese balls, and I am thinking about purchasing those too.

What could it hurt ? And they might be quite useful.

I've also found turmeric has been absolutely wonderful for the pain. /Alternative/Turmeric-TKOs-Motrin.129692

It is a powerful anti-inflammatory fortunately, all natural, unlike the medical alternatives.

Biotin - This is one of the nutrients that work in conjunction with Vitamin B 6 and Riboflavin. It is recommended to take 300 micrograms daily.

Bromelain- The Healing Power of Vitamins, Minerals and Herbs recommends this powerful anti-inflammatory enzyme found in pineapples and states that taken with Vitamin B 6 and Turmeric the combination has been found to be "very effective in treating the inflammation and any resulting pain." Bromelain is found naturally in pineapple.

Capsicum - Found in hot peppers and a number of commercial salves, this has been widely used to treat pain. Steep a few peppers in two pints of rubbing alcohol for a few days. Dr. Duke warns of touching your eyes after handling peppers. You should always wash hands thoroughly after handling peppers or commercial salves as it will burn the eyes.

Chamomile tea is one of the best teas to soothe the nerves, so if your CTS is related to stress, there are several compounds found in a nice cup of chamomile tea known to calm the nerves.

Comfrey applied directly to the area can relieve pain, swelling and inflammation. Added to your favorite lotion, lavender oil or olive oil this makes an excellent topical cream. The active compounds are allantoin and rosmarinic acid.

Cumin contains three pain relieving compounds, seven anti-inflammatory and four that reduce swelling. Add it to your meats or rice dishes.

Proteolytic enzymes - Found in pineapple, papaya and ginger.

Riboflavin - This is a necessary nutrient that aids in the use of Vitamin B6

Sage- Dr. Duke and Dr. Beckstrom-Sternberg identified six anti-inflammatory compounds in sage. Sage can be brewed as a tea, added to stuffing and used on a host of other foods.

Vitamin B6 - This vitamin is found in cauliflower, watercress, spinach, bananas, avocados, and okra and is important to healthy nerve tissue and circulation. According to Dr. John Marion Ellis, M.D., a family practitioner who has done extensive study on Vitamin B6 "about 90% of cases can be cured by vitamin B 6."

Prevention's Healing with Vitamins recommends consulting with a physician prior to taking more than 100 mgs. of Vitamin B6 daily. It is also recommended to consult with your family doctor if you are taking levodopa therapy for Parkinson's disease.

Vitamin B-6 works as a diuretic helping to relieve the water pressure in the body, however in excessive amounts this vitamin can cause damage to the central nervous system, so it wise to be tested for a deficiency prior to taking a supplement and to follow your doctor's recommendations.

Willow bark - Before there was aspirin, there was willow bark. Steep this herb (Willow bark), meadowsweet or wintergreen in hot water to make a pain relieving tea. They all contain natural salicylates. Add lemon to the tea to mask the bitter taste and drink three cups a day.

If you are allergic to aspirin, you will probably be allergic to these herbs. If so forego this remedy.

Never would I recommend to go against your doctor's advice, nor do I claim to be medically trained. The research that I do is offered to the reader merely as background information to be discussed with the family care physician in the hopes of bringing relief. It is my hope that no one would experience any unnecessary pain or suffering but would be able to live life to the fullest.

If interested, you can find more of mycontent at seeds for thought. Take care and stay well!
